TRAVEL/ MUNICH IN DECEMBER

Hey there peeps.
Munich, what a nice city!
Especially during Advents season. I mean, look at the pictures! It was my second trip to Munich and I fell in love.
You could literally feel the Christmas spirit. All the lights and Christmas trees, the smell of hot spiced wine and gingerbread in the air when you are walking past the stands. It really put me into a christmassy mood.

In this post I put together my favorite places to shop, to eat, to have a drink or just to do touristic stuff and stroll around town.
So when you plan to go to Munich, here you go!
(If you don't, definitely plan to go!)

Shoppingtips:

&other stories
Sendlinger Strasse 4

Zara Home
Fürstenfelderstrasse 13

COS
Münchgasse 3

Galeria Kaufhof
(big shopping mall)
Kaufingerstrasse 1-5

You can find the usual stores like H&M, Mango, Zara, Douglas and Co. in the center of the city around the Marienplatz and in the Kaufingerstrasse as well.

 Sights:
From the end of November until Christmas the Münchner Christkindlmarkt (Christmas-market in Munich) is taking place. It is in the center of the city around the Marienplatz. You won't miss it!
There is also a Christmas market in the "English Garden", called Weihnachtsmarkt am Chinesischen Turm.
When you don't go there during Advents season you can just visit the "Chinesischer Turm" and the "Englischer Garten". A must also in summer.

Food:

Max Rischart's Backhaus KG
Marienplatz 18
A really nice bakery/café where you can have breakfast on the second floor or just fresh sandwiches for lunch to go. I will definitely go there again!
Maybe include some extra time to wait to be seated, it's quite crowded. But good food means a lot of people, right? It's worth it.

Corneliusstrasse 2
Sunday morning brunch spot we tried. Well hellooo! So nice! Such polite staff and a lot of good food. We took the "Honeymoon breakfast" (Cute, right?). You should try that out as well, even if you aren't lovebirds. But make sure to make a reservation before.

Platzl 9
Okay, this is a must! On every tourist-tour. We had dinner at the Hofbräuhaus. It is really traditional German food like Sauerkraut, different meat (suckling pig, roast or Leberkäs), Knödel (kind of a dumpling made of potatoes or bread) and a beer of course. (Man, that liter got me.)
Even if you don't go there to eat, just go in and let the atmosphere sink in. You gotta see this at least once.

Odeonsplatz 6+7

Now maybe one of the best known Bars worldwide. Very classy and old atmosphere mixed with modern details and people. Go there and have a drink!
Maybe you will meet Pep Guardiola as well..(Yep, we did! So exiting!) (Oh, for all the non-football-fans, that's the coach from FC Bayern München)

So let me know what your favorites in Munich are! What should I visit next time and what do you think about posts like this?
